Elijah Bent

Technical Artist and Pipeline Engineer building production DCC tools for Maya and Unreal Engine 5. Founder of Subsurface Dev — creator of Solaura, a commercially shipped C++ hair grooming plugin competing with Yeti and XGen in production pipelines. Experienced in MetaHuman character pipelines, Houdini HDA development, Deadline render farm operations, and USD-based asset workflows. Pursuing B.S. 3D Graphics & Animation at CU Denver (May 2027).

My work sits at the intersection of software engineering and production art. I build the tools that artists use — C++ plugins, pipeline standards, procedural systems, and licensing infrastructure — while maintaining the hands-on DCC and rendering skills to understand what those tools need to do.
